(BBC Sport) It will go to wire - Pep
--Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola believes the race to finish in the Premier League's top four will go to the last day of the season.

City moved above Liverpool and into third place on goal difference thanks to Saturday's 5-0 win over Crystal Palace.

Manchester United and Arsenal, who are fifth and sixth, meet on Sunday.

"There are four amazing teams fighting for the last two Champions League places," the Catalan boss said. "It will be a big, big battle until the last game.

....this can't be good; just saw over on the BBC Sport Championship live feed in regards to one of Liverpool's loanees....

(BBC Sport) Goalkeeper Ward sent off for Huddersfield
Huddersfield 0-2 Cardiff
--Potentially a big moment at Huddersfield, as the Terriers have had goalkeeper Danny Ward sent off. He'll now be suspended for the first leg of their Championship play-off semi-final. Cardiff lead 2-0 with goals from Kenneth Zohore and Joe Bennett.

(BBC Sport) Breaking team news
Liverpool v Southampton (13:30 BST)
--Liverpool are unchanged from the 1-0 win at Watford on Monday night. That means Phil Coutinho IS fit to start, with Adam Lallana remaining on the bench. One change for Saints as James Ward-Prowse comes in for Nathan Redmond.

--So...Nathan Redmond on the bench. There might be a few Fantasy Football managers who are unhappy with Claude Puel right now. Double gameweek innit...

(BBC Sport) Anfield is basking in glorious sunshine. It actually looks like end of season weather. I expect to see quite a few kids wearing full kits, including shinnies. That is when you know it is May.

But before we start diving head-first into Liverpool v Southampton chitter chatter there is also another game to look forward to later...

TEAM NEWS

--So the good news for Liverpool fans is that Philippe Coutinho has recovered well enough from a dead leg to start. The Reds are unchanged from Monday's 1-0 win ober Watford - Adam Lallana and Daniel Sturridge are on the bench.

--Just the one change for Southampton with James Ward-Prowse replacing Nathan Redmond. It was hoped Charlie Austin might be involved for the first time since dislocating a shoulder in December, but he's not in the squad.

Steve Wilson, Match of the Day commentator at Anfield: Having failed to score against Southampton over the course of three matches already this season, Liverpool would be right to be wary of this latest encounter at a time when they can afford no more slip-ups.

After drawing with Bournemouth and losing to Palace, a home win is overdue - but Southampton have already exploited Liverpool's vulnerabilities as well as anyone. If Jurgen Klopp's side do fail to finish in the top four it will be entirely of their own doing after underperforming in too many games which on paper seemed underwhelming.

Southampton may be securely mid-table without too much to trouble them, but the boos which greeted their inability to beat Hull at St Mary's a week ago will have hurt and should ensure a response.

--Rapturous reception for the Liverpool players as they jog off down the tunnel following their warm-up. Time for another splash of the pitchside sprinklers.

(The Guardian) Jürgen Klopp has been speaking, and he is all smiles. “We have nothing to moan about, nothing to complain, of course we feel the pressure but the pressure gives you extra petrol in the tank and that is probably what we need today. We know about Southampton, and they do not have the pressure.”

(The Guardian) Graeme Souness reckons Oriol Romeu is so good that he trumps Victor Wanyama’s efforts at Southampton, and I am not too sure I would disagree with him. Romeu scooped two awards at Southampton’s end-of-season do in the week and has been one of Puel’s best performers. Anyway, we are only a few minutes away from kick-off.

....and the teams are heading out onto the pitch; for Liverpool, the math is simple: a win or a draw would see the Reds go back into 3rd above Manchester City.....

Time....for some football.
